AI Methodology

Last updated: February 2026

This page explains how our AI generates informational summaries from user-submitted lab data. Enhanced Genetics AI provides educational insights and is not a medical provider.

1) Purpose of the AI system

  • Translate lab values into plain-language explanations.
  • Identify trends across historical lab results.
  • Highlight potential areas to review.
  • Organize results into structured summaries for easier understanding.

For a simpler overview, see AI Overview.

2) How insights are generated

The AI analyzes lab values you submit, compares values over time (if historical data exists), and produces structured summaries to help you understand patterns.

The system may use:

  • Individual lab values and units.
  • Reference ranges included in your report.
  • Historical comparisons between multiple reports.
  • Optional user-provided context.

For details on what data is used and not used, see AI Data Sources.

3) Non-diagnostic design

The AI is intentionally designed to provide informational summaries rather than medical diagnoses. It does not prescribe medication, recommend treatment, or provide medical clearance.

See AI Safety for responsible-use guidance.

4) Guardrails and safety controls

  • Outputs are phrased as informational rather than definitive medical conclusions.
  • The system avoids presenting recommendations as prescriptions.
  • Users are encouraged to consult licensed clinicians for interpretation and decisions.

For governance and update management, see AI Governance.

5) Known limitations

AI outputs depend on data quality, completeness, and context. Lab reference ranges may vary by provider, and missing context may reduce accuracy.

See AI Limitations for a detailed discussion.

6) Updates and transparency

Significant changes to AI behavior, guardrails, or output structure are recorded in our AI Changelog.
